‘Didn’t think’
“I didn’t think about my mother when I placed the stengun in the open window
Nor did I think of her when I suspected someone across the street had been hit
I didn’t think of her again until I brought the gun in that night
How she used the corner of her apron to wipe the table when I had spilled some more
And how she then said: Careful, the window sill has just been painted, don’t scratch it. “
