Gary Winogrand once said “The world isn’t tidy, but it’s a mess”. And that’s exactly what you see in his photographs. Winogrand was a street photographer during the fifties and sixties, when street photograpy wasn’t mainstream yet. He captured people being themselves and doing their stuff in the streets of New York and Los Angeles with his trusted Leica M4. He was very productive and his photographic legacy is enormous.
